What tool do professional chefs use to break up ground beef as it cooks in the skillet? I have always used a wire whip for the task (repeatedly smashing the whip downward). But, of course, that's not what the tool is meant for. So...I'm curious as to what others use (maybe a potato masher), and if there is indeed a tool specifically designed for the task. I like the ground beef to be as finely broken up as possible for such recipes as homemade tacos.
What tool do I need to measure mitre cuts for baseboard along walls that are not 90 degrees? Now that I am tackling the rooms that are pentagons and other odd shapes (it's a weird house) I don't know at what angle to set the mitre saw when I make my cuts for the corner joins on the baseboard. I am guessing I need to measure the angle where the walls meet, and then divide this in half?... is it the same procedure for both the inside and outside corners? And what tool do I use to measure the angle? I have a tool I used to draw a line on the laminate flooring on an angle but it does not give a reading in degrees. Thanks!
What is the tool used to turn on the gas to a fireplace in a new home? I have a new home with a gas fireplace with an electric ignition. There is a gas valve built in the wall near the fireplace that uses a tool to turn on the gas to the fireplace. I tried to use a pair of needle nose pliers but they're too short to reach the valve which sits back about an inch inside the wall. The valve is shaped like a hex (male). Does anyone know the name of the tool used to turn the gas valve on and off?
What kind of tool is used to remove a fuel filter? I have a 2004 Ford Explorer. We are going to change the fuel filter. I am told a couple things. First, it's hard because on my model it is above the fuel tank and second, that there is a special tool for removing the filter. Any information on how to properly replace the filter and what this tool looks like would be great. Pictures would also be appreciated. Thank you!
What type of joint would you use for a interchangeable garden tool? For my resistant materials second paper on Monday the theme is "Garden Hand Tools". We need to know about Single and interchangeable tools and i was wondering what you would use on the tool to make it interchangeable so that the head of the tool could be changed into about 3 tools e.g. a trowel, small fork, small rake. So, what type of joining (fabricating) would you use? Any information you have on garden hand tools would be useful as well please. Thanks :) How would you do the threaded or pinned connection?
What tool is sharp enough to allow me to cut any pattern I could draw with a pen? I want to cut patterns out of reflective safety tape tape that I can put on my motorcycle. The utility knife just does'nt cut it. You get jaged lines and the tape moves around when you are cutting close to the edges. A low powered laser would be perfect because the issue is I need the tape to cut like butter...no resistance so I can maintain my lines while cutting. I need a better technique or a better tool or both. Please help, I've been looking all over the web and making phone calls, but no luck. Thanks. When I say utility knike I mean xacto. I think xacto is just a brand name for a utility knife, but I don't know. Bottom line is the whole point of my question was to find out what a better tool than an xacto knife was. Only one person really answered my question. The dremel(sp?) tool looks like it's right up my alley and its what I asked for..."a better tool". It could only be a sharper knife, or a tool cuts in a way that alows me to keep my lines straight or it would hace to be a tool(machine). Thats what I'm guessing.

What tool can I use to confidentally remove icky grime from household surfaces? The ideal tool I'm thinking of is a carpet shampooer-style hand wet vac with a wide mouth and powerful full-width agitators, that works on hard and weird shaped surfaces, is safe on the surfaces of non water resistant electronics (if somehow possible this would be awesome) and, also a stretch, is cheap. Thanks for any recommendations!
Where can I get some high-speed pneumatic tool accessories? I have an old high-speed Blue Dart pneumatic dremel-like tool, but I seem to have lost most of the accessories. It, like many similar tools, uses a chuck to attach stuff to it. Does anyone know where I can get good, safe attachments for my tool? Thanks in advance. BTW: dremels use a much slower speed than my tool, so I am sure that dremel accessories would break if I used them.

Where can I find a really good tool set? I used to work in a hardware store and I know that most of those tool sets you can buy have a ton of things you don't need along with the things you do need. What is the tool called for the door knobs with the tiny round key holes? I just need to know what the tool is called that is used for unlocking the doors with the tiny key holes. It is kind of like a lock pick. It has one flat end, like a flathead screwdriver, and when you put it in the hole you have to turn it. A nail will not work, it has to have a flat end. What would be the best tool to remove carpet tacking from a cement floor? I have a cement floor from which I removed some old carpet. The tacking was nailed to the floor with small nails. I have been using an old screwdriver to try and pry up the old tacking, but it is painstakingly slow. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of tool to use to get under the tacking and pry it up more easily? I have also tried a putty knife but that is too flimsy. What could I use that is thin enough to slide under the gaps but strong enough to pry the tacking pieces up. I don't care about the holes left in the cement, since I will have to do some resurfacing anyway.

What's the best remedy or tool to keep my dog from shedding? She is a pit terrier mix and has the short, coarse hair of a pit bull. The past couple of weeks she has been shedding so much. I'm not normally allergic to dog hair, but it's been making my allergies pretty bad. It's all over the house and on my bed. I bathe her on a weekly basis and purchased a firm brush and a shedding tool to help with the hair loss. She is on a proper diet, is healthy, and up to date on all her shots. So far, nothing has really worked. It's only getting worse and I'm incredibly frustrated!! What should I do?
