What is the best tool for slicing potatoes to make chips and crisps?
I have a Kenwood Major. I would like a tool that fits on to it that will slice and cut potatoes to make chips. But if there was a manual tool that did the sam thing that would be just great too.

- I always use a batoney. sharp though watch those pinkeys!!
- I use a knife
- Kyocera makes a great mandolin slicer (under $25). I use one myself and it makes perfect chips. http://www.amazon.com/Kyocera-Adjustable-Mandolin-Slicer-Red/dp/B000HZBXOA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1242055660&sr=8-1 the red Kyocera mandolin slicer -- you can search Google "Kyocera mandolin slicer" to see where you can get the best deal.
- Sharp knife or a japanese mandolin slicer.
- mandolin slicer
- The slicing blade in a food processor, or a mandoline slicer.
- You can borrow my wife if you want to she,s got a sharp tongue, is good at it and will cut them in no time at all.
- Mandolin
- You can buy hand chippers but they are hard on the wrists and awkward to clean, a V Slicer or mandolin is great for crisps but pretty dangerous if you're not used to them. Your best option would be the slicing attachment to your Kenwood
- The best tool to make crisps is definitely a mandolin, but as far as chips are concerned why not just cut them with a sharp knife to the size that suits you
